MasTec reported $8.913bn of Power Delivery backlog at September 30. For a fast-moving electrical-infrastructure programme, which mobilisation constraint is hardest to cost early: field supervision, protection and controls, commercial leadership, or materials coordination?
WHAT MATTERS NOW
Coral Gables-headquartered MasTec reported estimated 18-month Power Delivery backlog of $8.913bn at September 30, 2026, compared with $6.347bn at June 30 and $5.128bn a year earlier. The backlog is company-wide, not a map of Florida work. It is still a material delivery signal for owners and contractors working across Florida’s electrical-infrastructure market.
MasTec reported $1.8352bn of Power Delivery revenue for the quarter, up 65.2 percent year over year. It also said July’s acquisition of The Superior Group added a full-service electrical contractor focused on critical infrastructure and large-load electrical infrastructure. The filing does not identify individual projects, clients or staffing plans.
For clients: do not treat a larger backlog as evidence that a particular role is open. Test mobilisation capacity before the programme reaches the field: who owns the interface between engineering, procurement, field supervision, utility or customer requirements and commercial change? That answer affects cost, sequence and recovery options when work accelerates.
For candidates: experience in utility-scale power delivery, large-load electrical infrastructure, construction controls and field leadership may be relevant to the wider market. A public result is not an invitation to apply. Build People discusses opportunities confidentially only where a genuine mandate exists.
FEATURES, ADVANTAGES AND BENEFITS
Live talent mapping shows which power-delivery, electrical-construction and programme leaders are visible before the market tightens. The result is a more credible workforce and cost plan.
Rate and workforce intelligence tests the brief against current market conditions and capability availability. The benefit is a stronger forecast and fewer emergency hires.
Project and company intelligence supports earlier conversations when a backlog, acquisition or mobilisation decision changes the delivery picture. That improves hiring timing.
Permanent search, contractors and payroll support can be planned as one resourcing route where the delivery model needs it. The benefit is fewer gaps through mobilisation and delivery.
