General Superintendent - Healthcare

The Opportunity

Build People is partnered with a leading General Contractor in the Miami market to appoint a General Superintendent with deep experience delivering large-scale healthcare projects ($100M+).

This is a high-impact leadership role overseeing complex hospital and medical facility builds, including ground-up and phased renovations in live environments. You’ll be the senior field authority, driving safety, schedule, quality, and coordination across multiple teams and trades.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Take full ownership of site operations on major healthcare projects from mobilization through closeout
• Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of superintendents, field engineers, and subcontractors
• Develop and execute detailed construction schedules, phasing plans, and site logistics
• Manage work in active healthcare environments, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations
• Enforce strict adherence to ICRA, Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM), and all healthcare compliance standards
• Drive a best-in-class safety culture across the jobsite
• Partner closely with Project Executives, PMs, and clients to resolve challenges and maintain project momentum
• Oversee quality control and ensure all work meets drawings, specs, and healthcare standards

What We’re Looking For

• 15+ years of construction experience with a minimum of 5+ years in a lead or General Superintendent role
• Proven track record delivering healthcare construction projects valued at $100M+
• Strong knowledge of hospital construction protocols, MEP coordination, and complex phasing
• Experience working in occupied/operational healthcare facilities
• Advanced scheduling knowledge (Primavera P6 or similar)
• A hands-on leader who can command respect in the field and drive performance
