Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong Ground-Up Construction and General Contractor (GC) experience to lead the development of a new $20M public library in Miami. The ideal candidate has a proven track record managing complex commercial projects from preconstruction through closeout, with excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate diverse stakeholders, including city officials, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all phases of project management for a ground-up public library project, ensuring completion on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and internal teams to ensure proper project execution.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, procurement, and cost controls.
- Oversee subcontractor performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with project requirements and safety standards.
- Review and approve submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
- Conduct regular site visits and meetings to ensure alignment with plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Maintain strong communication with the client and project stakeholders, providing updates and progress reports.
- Lead project closeout activities including punch lists, commissioning, and turnover documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 5–10 years of GC experience managing commercial ground-up projects.
- Proven experience delivering projects of similar scale ($10M–$30M+).
- Strong understanding of construction methods, building codes, and public-sector requirements.
- Proficiency in construction management software (Procore, CMiC, MS Project, etc.).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain effective vendor and client relationships.
