About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead all aspects of safety for mid- and high-rise commercial construction projects throughout South Florida. This individual will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and company leadership to ensure every jobsite maintains the highest standards of safety while complying with OSHA regulations and company policies.
The ideal candidate has experience working for a General Contractor on vertical construction projects and is passionate about building a proactive safety culture.
Responsibilities
- Lead and enforce all jobsite safety programs across assigned projects.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, local, state, and company safety regulations.
- Conduct daily jobsite inspections and identify potential hazards.
- Perform incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
- Lead toolbox talks, safety orientations, and ongoing safety training.
- Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and site-specific safety plans.
- Partner with Superintendents and Project Managers to proactively mitigate project risks.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with all safety requirements.
- Track safety metrics, inspections, audits, and incident reports.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies during inspections.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and project records.
- Promote a culture where safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction safety experience with a General Contractor.
- Experience on mid-rise and/or high-rise commercial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
- OSHA 500, CHST, CSP, or equivalent certifications are highly preferred.
- Experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and training sessions.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence field personnel and subcontractors while building positive relationships.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and digital safety management platforms.
- Valid driver’s license.
