Position Overview:
Our Client is seeking an experienced Lead Superintendent to oversee on-site operations for large-scale multifamily high-rise construction projects in Miami, FL. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex, high-value (minimum $150M) projects of 25+ floors, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence. This role demands hands-on leadership, exceptional coordination with subcontractors, and a deep understanding of Miami’s construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all on-site construction activities for multifamily high-rise projects (25+ floors, $150M+ value), from groundbreaking to project completion.
- Develop and enforce project schedules, ensuring timely progress and coordination with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Supervise and direct field crews, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain quality standards and productivity.
- Enforce strict safety protocols, ensuring compliance with OSHA, Miami-Dade County regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct daily site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to architectural and engineering plans.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, and engineers to resolve issues such as design conflicts or material delays.
- Utilize construction management tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) for documentation, scheduling, and communication.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, inspectors, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Mitigate risks, including weather-related delays, labor shortages, or permitting challenges, common in Miami’s market.
- Mentor and train assistant superintendents and field staff, fostering a culture of accountability and safety.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on high-rise projects.
- Minimum 5 years as a Lead Superintendent for a general contractor, overseeing large-scale construction sites.
- Experience managing at least 5 multifamily high-rise projects (25+ floors) with a minimum construction value of $150 million each.
- Proven ability to manage complex field operations, schedules, and diverse teams on high-rise residential projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment for multifamily high-rise developments.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project) and scheduling tools.
- In-depth understanding of Miami-Dade County building codes, permitting processes, and safety regulations.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to site management.
- OSHA 30 certification required; additional certifications (e.g., First Aid/CPR, crane operation) preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience managing multifamily high-rise projects in urban markets like Miami, FL.
- Familiarity with sustainable construction practices and certifications (e.g., LEED).
- Strong relationships with local subcontractors and suppliers in South Florida.
