Our client is a well-established Commercial General Contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality retail and commercial construction projects throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth market.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, they are looking to add an experienced Superintendent to their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on construction professional who enjoys the pace and variety of retail tenant improvement (TI) work and wants to join a GC with a strong local presence and long-term project pipeline.

The Role

As Superintendent, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day field operations of retail tenant improvement and commercial renovation projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Projects will typically involve fast-track retail build-outs, renovations, remodels, and tenant improvements within occupied or operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day field operations for retail TI and commercial construction projects.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and short-term look-ahead schedules.
• Conduct daily coordination meetings and maintain strong communication with project teams.
• Coordinate MEP, framing, drywall, finishes, millwork, flooring, ceilings, and other trades.
• Work closely with the Project Manager to maintain schedule, quality, and client expectations.
• Review plans and specifications and identify potential field conflicts.
• Coordinate inspections and ensure projects meet applicable codes and requirements.
• Maintain a strong focus on jobsite safety and OSHA compliance.
• Manage punch lists, inspections, closeout, and turnover.
• Communicate effectively with clients, architects, inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Proactively identify issues and develop solutions to keep projects moving.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience, preferably with a strong retail/TI background.
• Proven experience working as a Superintendent for a General Contractor.
• Experience delivering retail tenant improvement, commercial interiors, restaurant, shopping center, or similar projects.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, and MEP coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong subcontractor management and scheduling skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, or similar construction technology is a plus.
• A strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.
