Our client is looking for a Civils Estimator to work at a location in Wisconsin

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator with experience of civil construction projects. As a Civil Estimator, you will play a crucial role in determining accurate and competitive cost estimates for various road and bridge projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Analyze project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to understand the scope of work and project requirements.
2. Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
3. Prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs, using industry-standard methods and tools.
4. Conduct site visits and assessments to gather information and identify potential challenges or opportunities that may impact project costs.
5. Evaluate and compare vendor and subcontractor bids to select the most competitive and reliable options.
6. Review and analyze historical data, project records, and industry benchmarks to support accurate cost estimation and provide recommendations for improvement.
7. Coordinate with the project management team to develop detailed project budgets and cost breakdowns.
8. Collaborate with procurement personnel to obtain competitive pricing for materials, equipment, and services.
9. Prepare and present cost estimates, reports, and supporting documentation to stakeholders, including clients, management, and project teams.
10. Assist in value engineering efforts to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and design intent.
11. Monitor and track project costs throughout the construction process, identifying deviations from the estimated budget and providing timely reports to project stakeholders.
12. Participate in bid evaluations, negotiations, and subcontractor selection processes.
13. Stay updated on industry trends, construction methodologies, and material costs to ensure accurate and up-to-date estimation practices.
14. Adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards in all estimating activities.
Key Skills & Experience required for the position include:
1. Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
2. Proven experience as an Estimator, preferably civil road and bridge projects.
3. Strong knowledge of construction practices, methodologies, and materials.
4. Proficiency in using construction estimating software and tools.
5. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
6. Ability to interpret complex construction plans, specifications, and technical documents.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
8. Solid organizational and time management abilities to meet project deadlines.
9. Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and permit processes.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.
Health & Safety for the position:
Co-operate with all Health and safety requirements from main Contractor.
PPS/Tools required for the position:
Hard hat, safety glasses, work gloves and hard-toe boots.
