Project Manager – Retail Tenant Improvements
Location: Houston, TX
Compensation: ~$110,000 base + full benefits
Overview
We’re seeking a Project Manager with experience in retail tenant improvements to oversee projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is ideal for someone who can manage multiple fast-paced build-outs while maintaining strong client relationships and delivering high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage retail TI projects from kickoff to completion (planning, budgeting, execution, closeout)
- Review plans, specs, and scopes to ensure project alignment and constructability
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost controls
- Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, architects, and clients
- Lead subcontractor buyout, negotiations, and contract administration
- Track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and timeline expectations
- Communicate progress, risks, and updates to stakeholders
Qualifications
- 4–8+ years of experience as a Project Manager in construction
- Strong background in retail tenant improvements / commercial interiors
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination
- Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar tools
- Strong communication and leadership skills
